Role Overview
Specifically the Data Engineer will support the Global Data Product Team and will focus heavily on applying various products to the central group functions like Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, Clinical & provision, Corporate Affairs and Company Secretarial.
As the Data Engineer you will accelerate the delivery of data, the creation of data features and common data services used across Group Functions and the wider Bupa organisation. As part of the delivery you will Streamline practices and tooling for data focusing on time to market, migrate data solutions from legacy systems to the strategic platform and support with delivering the implementation plan for the analytics road map
What you’ll do:
Work with the data science / analytics teams to understand detailed data requirements to be implemented
Engineering of data pipelines from data acquisition and ingestion though the common data services (catalogue, library, DQ measurement, etc), to various means of consumption including, reports, dashboards, applications, models, and API’s.
Engineering of data features in support of advanced analytical processes and data science / analytics teams.
Ensure that data features are reusable across different models, with possible creation of the prototype of the feature store - later to be industrialised
Assist the Stakeholders with the implementation plan of the Analytics Roadmap, as well as execute as per the plan
Engineering of data processes supporting monitoring of quality of advanced analytical solutions’ outputs.
Document and implement data quality and integrity checks across key data sets.
Lead / assist the migration of existing data solutions into Strategic environment
What you’ll bring:
Educated to minimum of degree level in engineering, computer science or related technology discipline
Azure/GCP certifications(s) or equivalent highly regarded
Strong level SQL/TSQL
Strong level (Py)Spark
Strong engineering practices
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) service skills, specifically:
Dataflow (Useful)
DataProc (Useful)
BigQuery (Useful)
CloudSQL (Useful)
Looker (Nice to have)
Vertex AI (Useful)
GKE (Useful)
Microsoft Azure data services skills, specifically:
Azure Synapse/Azure SQL DW (Useful)
Azure DataBricks/Spark (Useful)
Azure ML (Nice to have)
PowerBI (Useful)
Language skill:
SQL/TSQL (Mandatory)
Python (Mandatory)
Azure DevOps skills:
